This is what happens when you give a cat a dream, a pen, and the courage to believe that God will do all the rest. Go and check out my lil bro Michael Jackson “MJ” the writer of Saving God.
“Saving God”
February 2nd, 2009A New Day with My Baby
January 22nd, 2009What is motivation? If you Google search it, you’ll find more than 2.3 million results. That’s a lot of motivation. But when it comes down to you and your house, on a personal level, what’s your motivation? What drives you? What do you go to bed thinking about? What do dream about? And more importantly, what moves you at day break to pursue this new beginning of life with a passion beyond measure?
Whatever your motivation is, what you say to yourself can make all the difference in global mix of things.
You might be wondering, “When do you start this regimen of positive self talk?” Good question! Maybe you’re in your teens, your 20’s, your 30’s, your 40’s or your 50’s like me or even older, the point remains the same, it’s never to early to start speaking positive affirmations into your life.
In the video below, entitled, “New Day with My Baby” is pouring into lives of my children from an author’s poem, whose name escapes me, but I came across her published work in the Daily Bread Devotional way back in the early 90’s. If I’m not mistaken, the poem was entitled a “New Day”. If you happen to know the authors name please holla back because I would want to thank her because her poem and I have shared a lot of mornings together and that’s blog for another time. But in the meantime, check out what Daisha and I do in the mornings.

You got to love it. It’s a great way to start the day. And to share this time with Daisha, as I did with Nije, my 12 year old daughter from the time she was in the womb to this present day, is motivation that I hope they will share and pass on to the next generation.
So can I ask the question again, “What’s your motivation?” When I think of the true meaning of motivation, I hold on to a powerful quote shared with me from my motivational trainer and mentor, Les Brown, also known as Mamie Brown’s Baby Boy, would say to me along with the thousands of other that he mentored was this, “Shoot for the moon and if you miss you will still be among the stars”.
It took some time for me to learn what that meant, but as I came to understand the love of God and how He had all power in His spoken Word to put the moon and the stars in their place for His glory, I later came to realize that shooting for the moon and starts was not that big of a deal because I was going shoot on pass them anyway because I was heavenly bond in Christ Jesus. And with that mindset, my motivation shifted to pursuing a higher spiritual flight in Christ.
I hope this blog has given you the motivation to pursue the highest heights that God has put in place for you. Holla back. Love to chop it up with you.
Peace & Blessings
